Raphael "B.J.", H.I. Estrada, Jr, 50, Topeka, died Saturday, August 25, 2007.
He was born July 30, 1957 in Tempe, Arizona, the son of Nancy Williams and Raphael Estrada.
He graduated from Mesa High School in 1975. He served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard for 9 years.
He worked for the Topeka Water Department, had a landscaping business and was the owner & operator of Estrada Trucking, Inc. for many years.
He was married to Mary E. Schirmer for 22 years. She survives. Other survivors include a step-daughter, Christine Geier and grandson, Brandon Sawyer; son, Joshua Lee Estrada and grandson, Cody; step-son, Jesse D. Razak and grandson, Caden Michael and daughter, Elizabeth Luat; mother, Nancy Williams; brothers, Jeff Burgos, Fred Barnum, Aaron Barnum, David Barnum; and sisters, Brenda Amante, and Melody Dickey. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Anthony; and his father, Ralph Estrada.
He enjoyed motorcycling, bowling, camping, boating and spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He was a member of Kansas Motor Carriers Association and Harley Owners Group (HOG)
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. "B. J." will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
