Randy C Payne, Sr, 74, of Ozawkie, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023.
He was born January 6, 1949, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Cecil and Helen (Fahringer) Payne. He graduated from Highland Park High School and served in Army from 1968-1970 in Baumholder, Germany as a lineman and field wireman. He worked at Sunflower Army Ammunitions Plant from 1967-1970 and was self-employed as Proverty Construction (Randy Payne Maintenance and Remodeling) the rest of his working career.
He married to Loretta Ann Payne in 1968, they divorced in 1990.
Survivors include his children, Tamrha Payne-Fields, Randy C Payne Jr, and Mitt V Payne; grandchildren, Amber Wells, Ashley Reasner, Bryanna Payne, Taylin Hodges, Nichole Brown Payne, and Jessica Payne who passed at birth in 2000; great-grandchild, Bryson Wells; brothers, James Payne (Jim), and Daniel Joseph Payne (Dan).
Randy raced Stock cars in both Kansas and Missouri from 1977-1989 taking home numerous trophies and awards of recognition. His children and grandchildren were the delight of his life!
Visitation will begin at 12:30pm Tuesday, February 28, 2023 with funeral services to follow at 2pm all at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Mid-Town Chapel. Burial with military honors will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Amber Wells in care of the funeral home, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604 to assist with funeral expenses.
