Randy D. Strunk

Randall D. "Randy" Strunk, 53, of Topeka, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 after an extended battle with diabetes.

Randy was born November 22, 1956 in Topeka; son of Arnold Sr. and JoAnn (Laster) Strunk. He graduated from Highland Park High School, Topeka. Randy was a truck driver for many years. He was a warehouse manager at Falley's and drove for Frito Lay. Randy had been appointed as President of the Resident Council at Topeka Community Health Care Center, where he lived for the past year.

Randy was united in marriage to Lori Jones on May 1, 1989 in Topeka, and later divorced.

Randy is survived by his two children, Tyler (Natasha) Strunk and Taylor Strunk of Topeka; granddaughter, Leah Strunk of Topeka; and siblings, Robert Newell of Denver, CO; Karen (James) Bosch of Topeka; Arnold "Jerry" (Pam) Strunk, of Rockaway Beach, MO; and Thomas (Dianne) Strunk of Overland Park, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Randy will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel; where family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Diabetes Association, 837 S.
