Randall "Randy" Nephi Wadley, born of James Bryce Wadley, deceased, and Frances Louise Fuller Wadley on August 20, 1981, died peacefully in the family home, with his mother and sister, in the early morning hours of January 7, 2017. Randy lived with a brain tumor first diagnosed in 2006 and died from complications related to the growth of the tumor.
Randy is survived by his mother Frances Wadley; sister, Catherine Marie (Marvin) Wadley; brothers, James "Jimmy" Robert (Terri) Wadley, Michael Wayne (KaySea) Wadley, and Brian Charles Wadley.
Although short, Randy lived a full life filled with family and fun. Randy enjoyed traveling with his mother and increasing his collections including Pez and Legos. Randy is a Topeka High School alumnus (2000) and graduated from The University of Iowa with a BA in History. Before college, Randy served a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Düsseldorf Germany Mission. Randy later served in several volunteer capacities in the church and out most recently as a primary teacher and for Doorstep and the United Way. Randy is also an Eagle Scout and spent countless hours volunteering with the local scout groups. He loved children and always wanted to be with his nieces (2) and nephews (4) and be their favorite uncle. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2401 SW Kingsrow. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.
