Ramon Guerrero, born on October 4, 1931 in Topeka Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024 at the age of 92. A devoted husband and father, Ramon was known for his warm heart and unwavering dedication to his family.
He and Ruth were married on April 25, 1949 in Topeka, KS. They would welcome five children.
Throughout his life, Ramon enjoyed a rich career, contributing his skills as a Carmen Welder with the Santa Fe Railroad, where he dedicated 43 years of service before his retirement on October 4, 1993. Ramon was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen. In addition to this role, he also found joy working as a projectionist at local theaters, including the Cloverleaf Drive-In, Dickinson, and Grand Theatre.
Ramon was a man of many interests; he cherished the simple pleasures in life, particularly spending time playing pool with his sons. He was a member of SilverSneakers with his wife, Ruth.
He is survived by his loving sons, Jeff (Patty) Guerrero and Jay Guerrero, along with his daughter, Rayleen (Ivan) Perez. Ramon also leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He shared his life with siblings Benji Guerrero, Sara Guillen, Loretta (Tommy) Ortiz, Connie (Joven) Garcia, and Isabel Hernandez, as well as his daughters-in-law, Karla Guerrero and Mari Guerrero.
Ramon was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Guerrero, and his sons, Raphael Guerrero and Rene Guerrero. He was also predeceased by his parents Delfino and Magdalena Guerrero, as well as his siblings Joe Guerrero, Salvador Guerrero, Carmen Martinez, Tony Guerrero, and Jessie Guerrero.
Ramon Guerrero will be remembered as a dedicated family man, a skilled tradesman, and a cherished friend to many. His legacy of kindness and resilience will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
A graveside service honoring Ramon's life will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas on September 30, 2024, starting at 1:00 PM. The family requests those in attendance dress casually. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 or to Saving Death Row Dogs, PO Box 67671, Topeka, KS 66667.
