Ralph R. Anderson Jr., 88, of Topeka, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on September 28, 2023.
He was born on August 18, 1935, to Ralph Sr. and Grace Pearl (Hastings) Anderson in Topeka, KS.
R.R. owned and operated an RV dealership in Topeka, KS. for 60-plus years. R.R. began his business adventure as a used car dealer and was unexpectedly coerced into the RV world which became a blessing in disguise.
R.R. was also involved in other various colorful business adventures such as oil drilling, new car dealership, horse racing, real estate broker, professional baseball umpire and farming. RR worked until June 2023 and only stopped due to health reasons.
On September 9th 1953, he married Barbara J. Anderson. R.R. and Barbara lived in Topeka, Kansas. R.R. and Barbara enjoyed traveling the world, enjoyed politics, and were encouraged to run for Congress. R.R. and Barbara enjoyed spending time away at their homes in Florida and Missouri. In their spare time, you would find them at auctions and estate sales, watching sports, and enjoying the arts. R.R. proudly served his country as a Marine in the Korean War. R.R. credits his successful life to the Marine Corps. R.R. really enjoyed youth sports and was a referee and umpire up until he was 75 years old. Serving his country and his faith was his driving ambition throughout his life.
R.R. is survived by his loving wife; Barbara, granddaughter; Rachelle Davis (Art Davis Jr.), son; Ralph Anderson III (Debbie Anderson), granddaughter; Kelly Anderson (John Fisher), great-grandchildren; Shawn Anderson, Eian Bryan, and Aryn Bryan and sister; Ruby Louise Juergens.
He was preceded in death by his father; Ralph Anderson Sr., mother; Grace Anderson, daughters; Rhonda Riniker and Rise´ Anderson, brother; Ken Anderson; and sister; Thelma (Rodney) Gist.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, 2:00 pm at the Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, Topeka, Kansas, with visitation an hour prior to service time.
Burial will take place following the service at Mount Hope Cemetery.
