R. Marceil Ferguson

R. Marceil Ferguson, 75, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday March 9 at a local care facility.

She was born June 2, 1929 in Valley Falls, the daughter of Raymond and Ruby Cook Henderson.

She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1948. She was retired from the State of Kansas Insurance Dept.

She married Harvey N. Ferguson on December 19, 1948 in Topeka. He survives. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Loren Bob Henderson and William Bill Henderson.

Survivors include a daughter; Shari Crites of Shawnee, KS; a son, Kent Ferguson and his wife Jackie of Lawrence; three brothers, Raymond Henderson, Jr and Calvin Henderson, both of Topeka, Norman Henderson of Battleground, WA; two sisters, F. LaVonne Fascendini of Vancouver, WA and Twila Wynn of Belton, MO., five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ferguson will lie in state after 1:00 pm Friday March 11 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 12 at Crestview United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
