R. Arlene Woody

Ruth Arlene Woody, 89, of Topeka, passed away on Feb. 6, 2009. She was born on Jan. 24, 1921, in Paxico, KS, the daughter of William and Bertha Dittman. In 1938, she married Robert Lee Woody in McFarland, KS. He preceded her in death in 1951.
She is preceded in death by seven siblings.
Survivors include daughter, Mary Cushing; sister, Norma Stadler; grandson, Christopher (Heather) Cushing; 3 great grandchildren, Britny, Dawson, and Carter; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 10 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Arlene will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. on Tues., Feb. 9 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church or Topeka Lutheran School.
