Phyllis Ola Larson, 78, of Topeka, died on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Hospital.
Phyllis was born October 15, 1936 in Belfast, ME the daughter of John and Ione (Wing) Hayden. She spent her childhood in Panama and moved to Salina around 1950.
She graduated from Salina High School and from Asbury School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
She was married to Duane D. Larson on April 27, 1957 in Salina.
Phyllis worked as a nurse for Dr. Robert Pfuetze over 25 years. After her retirement, her and her husband travelled extensively throughout the US performing missionary work for Campers on Mission.
She is survived by her husband, Duane D. Larson of Topeka; sons, David (Elena) Larson and Dennis (Melanie) Larson, daughters, Pamela (Dennis) Murray and Mary Beth (Billy) Fleming; sister, Barbara (Larry) Usher, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Johnny Larson and sister, Janice Porter.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave. in Topeka.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8 at the Franklin Cemetery in Tescott, Kansas.
