The Lord called Phyllis Joan Jurczewsky to join her beloved husband in Heaven on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. She had eighty wonderful years on this earth. At the time of her passing she was living in Tecumseh, Kansas surrounded by her children. She was born Phyllis Larsen in Turner County, South Dakota on September 16, 1939. She grew up on a farm in South Dakota and later married Duane Jurczewsky. Duane and Phyllis started their life together in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She graduated from the College of Cosmetology, worked as a hair dresser and held many odd jobs. She moved to Gillette, Wyoming with her family in 1976. She survived and continued a long life after cancer and radiation treatments. In 2014 she moved to Tecumseh, Kansas to live with her daughter Beth who would eventually become her primary caregiver.
Phyllis loved to spend time with family and her favorite things to do was cooking, baking, antique shopping, jewelry making, crafting, coloring and playing games with the family, especially dice. She loved spending time at the ocean collecting seashells and driftwood as an example. She loved to travel but Hawaii was her ultimate vacation destination.
Preceded by her husband Duane, parents Ernest and Clara Larsen, brothers Gilbert, Donald, Gerald and other loved ones. She is survived by her children Todd Jurczewsky, Beth and Tim Svalina, and Sonia and Jim Goehmann. She's also survived by eight grandchildren and her eight fun loving great grandchildren.
A cremation has taken place and a celebration of life was held by loved ones on March 1, 2020.
