Phyllis June Bartley, 80, Abilene, formerly of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015.
She was born May 16, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Crawford and Josephine (Holdren) Neff. She graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1954 and attended Kansas State University. She was cook for Topeka Public Schools.
Mrs. Bartley was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Abilene and a past member of the Grace Episcopal Cathedral, where she was part of Daughters of the King. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with family. She also enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing & crocheting, as well as genealogy. Phyllis & Clinton volunteered at elementary schools to read to children and they loved reading Beatrix Potter books to their grandchildren.
On February 13, 1976, she married Clinton Bartley in Topeka. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2009. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include two sons, Tim and his wife, Diane and Richard and his wife, Barbara; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one sister, Madelon (David) Hittle.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
Memorial services will be held at a later at Grace Episcopal Cathedral. Inurnment will be in the Chapel of Resurrection.
