Phyllis J. Wright
Phyllis J. Wright, 77, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2010 in Topeka. She was born October 12, 1932, in Topeka, the daughter of Max G. and Edith L. Inmon Starkel. She graduated from Topeka High School and was a homemaker. Phyllis was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was active in Girl Scouting for many years.
Phyllis married Wendell K. Wright, Jr. on August 28, 1954 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2006. Survivors include two sisters, Norma (James W.) Schwindt of Shawnee, KS, Irma MacNeill of Topeka, four nieces and one nephew.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Phyllis will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore St., Topeka, KS 66606.
