Phyllis J. Nace, 76, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Midland Hospice House.
Phyllis J. Nace was born August 19, 1933 in Hutchinson, Kansas; daughter of Elmer and Rachel (Steuart) Watters. She graduated from Great Bend High School and attended Kansas State University, where she was a member Alpha Xi Delta sorority.
Phyllis was united in marriage to William G. Nace on March 6, 1954 in Great Bend.
She worked at Heifner's Nursery and later for Stanley's Flowers as a floral designer for many years. Phyllis was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church and Kansas Capital Quilters Guild. She enjoyed playing bridge, quilting and attending her grandchildren's many activities. Phyllis loved traveling, camping and boating in her earlier years.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Bill Nace, Topeka; children, Gregg Nace, Merriam; Diane (Darrel) Pavelka, Topeka; and Ronald (Pam) Nace, Lawrence; grandchildren, Ryan (Gretchen) Nace, Tyler (Nichole) Nace, Sarah Pavelka and Laura Pavelka; great-grandchildren, Landon and Ivy Lynn Nace; and special best friend, Lois Hazard, Topeka.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Crestview United Methodist Church, 2245 SW Eveningside Drive, Topeka 66614. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Private graveside services will be held at Mission Center Cemetery, Topeka.
