Phyllis Jean Greenberg, 79, of Topeka passed away Friday, December 28, 2007, at Midland Hospice Care. Phyllis had COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) which caused her to be home-bound in recent years.
She was born on June 26, 1928 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of William Hall and Elsie (Rezac) Lynde.
Phyllis was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church. She was known for her artistic talents in ceramics, oil paintings, and enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds. She showed and developed prize-winning championship German Shepherd dogs in the 1950s; an interest she thoroughly enjoyed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Greenberg, in 1953. She is survived by a son, Frank William Meade, and wife, Esta.
Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Phyllis will not lie in state.
