Phyllis E.(Tilberg) Mason

Phyllis E. (Tilberg) Mason, 93, of Topeka, died Monday, February 9, 2015.
She was born January 14, 1922 in Dwight, Kansas, the daughter of Edward and Esther (Swenson) Tilberg. She graduated from Dwight Rural High School and attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas for 2 years, receiving a Normal Teacher's Certificate.
Mrs. Mason was the Assistant to the Personel Manager at The Menninger Foundation for 31 years, retiring 1978. She worked as Personnel Manager at the Wayne-Dalton Corporation plant in Pensacola, Florida, for 7 years, retiring in 1987. She returned to Topeka in 1993.
Phyllis was married to Dean C. Mason in 1964 in Topeka. He died in November, 1992 in Pensacola, FL. Survivors a sister, Marjorie Tilberg Williams, Wichita, KS; two nieces, Myia Williams and Dana Williams; and a nephew, James (JoAnn) Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Alden Tilberg and a sister, Carolyn Tilberg.
Phyllis was cremated. Inurnment will be in Pensacola Memorial Gardens, Pensacola, FL. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015, at the First Lutheran Church, 1234 SW Fairlawn Road, Topeka. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany College or First Lutheran Church.
