Philip Logan

Philip G. Logan, 81, Topeka, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2007 at Stormont-Vail hospital.

Phil was born October 8, 1925 in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Vern M. and Ina G. (Gearhart) Logan.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Phil married Mary Joann Russell on June 19, 1948 in Chicago, IL.

He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1949.

He has been a resident of Topeka since 1955. He owned and operated Met Con Products until 1972. He then worked as a real estate broker for many years and was named Realtor of the Year in 1983.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1999. Survivors include their children; Michael R. Logan and wife, Wilma, Houston, TX; Daniel P. Logan, Gainesville, FL; Christine L. Krupa, Durham, NC; Matthew B. Logan and wife, Felice, Takoma Park, MD; 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and sister, Virginia G. Kuehl and husband, Dick, Cedar Rapids, IA.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert J.Dole Institute of Politics, 2350 Petefish Drive, Lawrence, KS 66045.
