Peggy J. Semler

March 14, 1924 — August 7, 2012

Peggy J. Semler, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2012 at a Topeka care facility. She was born March 14, 1924 in Topeka, the daughter of Robert R. and Laura Marling Steves.

Peggy graduated from Topeka High School in 1942 and attended Washburn University. She was a Data Entry Technician for the Shawnee County Election Commission for 17 years before retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Primetimers Club and the Alpha Phi Sorority at Washburn University.

Peggy married Darel P. Semler on November 4, 1943 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jane Shankland.

Survivors include one daughter, Christy (Steve) Broslavick and one son, Robert Semler, both of Topeka and four grandchildren, Paul Semler, Elliot Semler, Drew Semler and Kelsey Broslavick.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Rd., Topeka, KS 66617.
