Pearl N. Barton
89, Topeka passed away November 2, 2004 at a Topeka Hospital. Mrs. Barton was born April 30, 1915 in Lone Elm, KS the daughter of Fred and Melissa Laird Browning.
She was married to Hoyt S. Madison. They had three children; Esther, Rose and Lawrence. She later married Vernon J. Barton. They had one child, Verna. Pearl was a lab assistant at Santa Fe Memorial Hospital and retired at the age of 70. She spent her retirement years quilting and tending to her flower garden. She had been a member of the East Side Baptist Church. She was a member of South Knollwood Baptist Church for nearly 40 years.
She was prededed in death by a son; Lawrence Madison.
Survivors include; her children: Rose Geasland: New Mexico, Esther McKain Covington, WA; Verna Lowrey, Topeka; 17 grandchildren, 5 of which she raised herself, and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00a.m. Saturday November 6, 2004 at South Knollwood Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Barton will lie in state from noon Friday, November 5, 2004 and the family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00-7:30 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
