Pearl Engstram

Pearl J. Engstrom, 85, Topeka, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 at Plaza West Regional Health Center. She was born July 3, 1919 in Topeka, the daughter of James N. and Myrtle M. Barger Lydic. Pearl was a member of University United Methodist Church. She served for over 30 years as a Deputy Sheriff for the Shawnee County Sheriff's Department. She married Bernard Engstrom, he died in 1992. Survivors include a sister, Clara Dinger, Topeka; two nephews Bob and Jon Proctor and one great nephew Zachary Proctor. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Interment will be in Topeka Cemetery. Pearl will lie in state after 2:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 10, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to University United Methodist Church 1621 SW College Topeka, KS 66604.
