Pauline M. Butler, 85, of Topeka, went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005.
Pauline was born on December 28, 1919 in Ada, OK., the daughter of Charles M. and Maude White Jackson.
She married Dr. Raymond L. Butler on August 2, 1941 in Cleveland, OK. He died in 1990.
They moved to Topeka in 1955 after he returned from the Korean War. Dr. Butler established a Veterinarian practice in Topeka and Pauline dedicated her life to raising their four daughters.
She was active in school PTA's, a Blue Bird leader and taught Bible School at First Christian Church during the summer. Pauline encouraged and nurtured the varring interests of her daughters. She was always sensative to the needs of others.
Pauline worked for Security Benefit Life Insurance and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas, retiring in 1983.
She filled her retirement years with volunteer work for the American Cancer Society, entertaining family and her beloved bridge friends.
Her legacy is her family, which she loved with all her heart. She was the guiding force in their lives. There are no words that can express their loss and their devotion to her. She will be foreever in their lives and hearts, in spirit.. We love you, Mom.
Survivors include: Victoria Pierce and husband Craig, Centennial, CO, Amanda Newitt and husband, Timothy, Prairie Village, Melinda Butler, Aurora, CO, and Natalie Maupin and husband Craig, Palm Desert, CA., and five grandchildren: Bradley G. Newitt and wife Barbara, Rebecca A. Gary and husband, Josh, Laura E. Newitt, Samantha A. Maupin and Angelina M. Maupin, and one great granddaughter, Amelia A. Gary.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 11:00 A.M, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
