Paul Campbell Rion

Paul Campbell Rion, 76, of Topeka, passed away on April 18, 2018. Paul was born in Kansas City, MO on February 4, 1942 to Elizabeth Campbell Rion and the late Robert Rion. Paul graduated from Topeka High School in 1960. He married Nancy S. Wood on June 9, 1962, and went on to graduate from Washburn University in 1967. He began working at the Menninger Foundation in 1957, and began teaching at Menninger's Southard School in 1967. He remained there as a teacher until his retirement in 2002. Paul was an avid golfer. He was a fixture in Topeka Golf Association events throughout his career and was the inaugural Vice President for the first Men's Club at Lake Shawnee Golf Course.

Paul was preceded in death by his son, Todd H. Rion. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Rion; wife, Nancy S. Rion; daughter, Deborah S. Rion (Dave); grandson, Adam Milner (Allyn); great-grandson, Trevor; a brother, Michael Rion (Nancy); and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Lake Shawnee Golf Course Clubhouse at 12:00pm Wednesday, May 2, 2018 with food and refreshments to follow.

Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the NE Kansas Parkinson's Association, P.O. Box 67342, Topeka, KS 66667.
