Paul H. Fink

The family of Paul H. Fink would like to honor his wishes by publishing the obituary he personally wrote. He was a very humble man. Those of you who knew him know the life he lived and the legacy he leaves is far greater than could be printed on one hundred pages. He will be greatly missed.

Paul H. Fink died June 10, 2009 at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born May 27, 1929 in Hays, the son of Emmett and Goldie (Cummings) Fink.

He attended Topeka Schools and was a graduate of Topeka High School. Mr. Fink received a Bachelor's degree from Washburn University and a Master's Degree from Emporia State University.

Mr. Fink was employed by the Topeka School District from 1953 until his retirement in 1990. He was a teacher for eight years and served in several administrative assignments for twenty nine years. Mr. Fink was also an assistant professor in the Washburn School of Education.

Mr. Fink was a member of the Kansas Army National Guard and had retired in 1985 with the rank of Colonel. He also was a member of the Topeka Downtown Rotary for many years. He attended Topeka Bible Church.

Paul married Jackie Anderson on July 12, 1953 in Osage City. She survives. Other survivors include daughters, Susan Bradley, Tulsa, OK; Sara Houston, Overland Park; and a son, John L. Fink, Overland Park; brother, Jack L. Fink, Media, PA; six grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Eskenazi; and a grandson, Blake William Houston in 1983.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Topeka Bible Church, 1101 SW Mulvane. Inurnment services will be private.
