Patricia “Pat” Lee Vines, 93, of Holton, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024.
She was born October 27, 1931, in Cawker City, Kansas, the daughter of Howard and Freda (Norton) Beam. She graduated from Nortonville High School in 1949. After graduation, she went to business college in Lawrence, Kansas.
Patricia worked for the State of Kansas as a Punch Key Operator. She retired in 1992.
Pat was a volunteer for the Topeka Genealogical Society and enjoyed researching her family history. She was a member of the Red Hats and the Daughters of the Mayflower.
In her spare time, Pat enjoyed traveling to different places and would often take day trips and cruises. She liked training dogs. She would often spend time in her garden. Pat was an antique collector, especially Patrician Beige Ware.
She leaves behind her siblings, Donavee Throop, Linn Beam and Gene Beam and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Ray Vines; parents and siblings, Marvel Leachman, Cleon Beam and Harold Beam.
Her family will greet friends and relatives from 4:00pm-6:00pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm., Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Keene Cemetery, Eskridge, Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Genealogical Society, 2717 SE Indiana Ave, Topeka, KS 66605.
