Patricia June McEwan, 93, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016.
She was born September 7, 1922, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Martin C. and Louise A. (Rupp) O'Connell.
Patricia married John W. McEwan on May 6, 1943 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1975.
Pat was a 50+ year member of Crestview United Methodist Church. She was a member and Past President of VFW Auxiliary Post #1650, Past President Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary # 1, Helena Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star # 210, Arab Temple Nobles, The Retired Officers Association Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, Goodyear Leisure Clubs and volunteered numerous hours at the VA hospital in Topeka.
Survivors include a son, Terry McEwan (Mary) of Rose Hill, KS; a grandson, Jason McEwan (Michelle) and two great grandsons, Lane and Cole, all of Graham, NC.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas P. McEwan; brother Martin O'Connell, Jr., Sisters Margaret Weir and Loraine Clerico.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, May 16, 2016 at Mount Hope Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW. 17th St., Topeka, KS 66604.
