Patricia L. Blackman, 48, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 16 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born December 11, 1956 in Topeka, the daughter of Duane and Inez Hamilton.
She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1974. She attended Kaw Valley Vocational/ Technical School and Washburn University. She was a dedicated employee of Prudential Insurance for 26 years. She then went to work for Peoples Benefit Group until she retired due to health concerns. She was an avid lover of the outdoors and enjoyed camping with her family and friends. She was also a loving mother and wife who took an active interest in her daughters lives.
She married Don Blackman on March 27, 1976 in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Tracy and Brenda Blackman of Topeka, a brother, Richard Hamilton of East Lansing, Michigan and her parents, Duane and Inez Hamilton of Topeka.
Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday March 22 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore. An inurnment will follow at 2:00 pm in Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery.
