It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Ann Erwin Beason announces her passing on July 14, 2018, at the age of 78 years.
Patty's life is best described with the adjective vivacious! She was born April 9, 1940. She attended the Redden Chapel and soon under the care of Margaret Cummings became a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. As an adult she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Parish Deacon and Youth Group advisor for countless years. When her daughters were grown she took her energy and enthusiasm to the work force as an activities director for Presbyterian Manor and Atria Hearthstone, always recruiting from her large repertoire of family and friends, to join in the fun. Patty loved to sing, and it didn't matter where she was. Those who know her are familiar with her favorite song, Rise and Shine and Give God Your Glory. Patty dearly loved her family and friends always traveling, camping, or dining out with a large group of both. She will be remembered by all for her passion.
Patty will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Margaret (Terry) Jones, Linda (Don) Avila, Brenda (Dr. John) Marsh, and Patricia Jean (George) Barnes. Patty will also be fondly remembered by her 11 grandchildren, Nicki, Brian, Bryan, Michael, Jason, Catherine, Sara, Travis, Martin, Christopher, and Daniel and by four brothers, Harold, Francis, Condie, and Jack Erwin. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years E.E. (Gene), a daughter Betsy, mothers Margaret Cummings and Julia Anderson, her sisters Catherine Hilner and Betty Helmick, and brothers, Larry Erwin and Ray Hilner.
Family will greet friends Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave. Topeka. A funeral service in honor of Patty will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church 1275 SW Boswell Ave., Topeka KS 66604. Interment will follow Mount Hope Cemetery.
As Patty was concerned that children always had the financial resources to improve their life opportunities, memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund, 1275 SW Boswell, Topeka, KS 66604.
