Patricia Ann Lundry, 83, Topeka, died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born April 20, 1928 in Washington County, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer D. and Vera Dickson Waterman. She was raised in Washington, graduating from Washington High School in 1946. She came to Topeka following her graduation, attended the University of Kansas for a short time, and began employment with the Veterans Administration Hospital. She was Assistant Chief of Volunteer Services there at the time of retirement in 1992.
Pat was very active at First Christian Church, where she sang in the choir for over 60 years and had served as a Deacon and Elder and was a Flock Shepherd. She was a member of the Tabitha Circle of the Disciple Women, served as membership chair, and headed the annual Thanksgiving dinner. She enjoyed socializing monthly with her dear friends of the Dazzling Dozen social sorority, and was a member of the DAV Auxiliary, was a Docent at the ERC Designer's Showhouse, and compiled over 1000 hours of Jazzercise in the last 7 years.
She married Harlan E. Lundry on June 27, 1948 in Washington, Kansas. He died July 23, 2004. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Murphy and Carol Boodhansingh and two brothers, Dale Waterman and Steve Waterman.
Survivors include her children, Debbie (Henry) Collins of Meriden, David (Sherry) Lundry and Connie (Steve) Brown, both of Topeka; two brothers, Scott (Vicky) Waterman of Assaria, Kansas and Dan (Sandy) Waterman of Topeka; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church. Inurnment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. She will lie in state after noon Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m.
