Patricia Ann Abbey, 89, of Topeka, recently Kansas City, passed away Monday, September 28, 2020.
She was born July 14, 1931, in Granite City, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Lela (Wise) Puetz. She graduated from Granite City High School.
Reading was her passion. She loved to talk about politics and religion. She enjoyed gardening, especially with flowers. She also enjoyed traveling and listening to Big Band music.
She enjoyed sports, especially baseball as well as the K-State Wildcats, Kansas City Royals, and Kansas City Chiefs.
When she lived in Topeka, she was an active member of St. Joseph and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. When she lived in Kansas City, she did attend parish there. Above all else, she adored and cherished her family.
Patricia married Bob Abbey on May 15, 1954 in Daly City, CA. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2015. Survivors include a son, Paul Abbey, daughter, Mary Ann Rector, daughter, Maureen Ray, daughter, Marilyn (Brad) Mize, and son, Robert (Kelly) Abbey; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 312 NE Freeman, Topeka, KS, 66616. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka. A Rosary will be recited 9:30 a.m., Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church 312 NE Freeman, Topeka, KS, 66616.
