Owen "Gene" Noakes

August 24, 1925 — July 6, 2014

Owen "Gene" Noakes, 88, Topeka, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Midland Hospice. He was born August 24, 1925, in Severy, Kansas, the son of Marietta Noakes.

He graduated from Severy High School in 1943. Gene was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a carpenter for the Santa Fe Railroad for 36 years and a life member of V.F.W. Post No. 1650.

He is survived by two sons, Rod (Dana), Stan (Brenda); grandchildren, Joy Isaacs, Ross Noakes (fiancé, Leslie) and step granddaughter, Kaytee Clark.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patti on February 22, 2010.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9 at Mount Hope Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
