Orville W. Smith, Jr.
75, Meriden, passed away November 5, 2004 of cancer. Orville, Jr. was born near Burlingame the son of Orville and Vida Davis Smith,they preceded him in death.
He had farmed many years in the Dover area. He worked as a mechanic and retired from the City of Topeka Street Department.
He is survived by his wife Norma J.Smith, three sons Dale W. Smith, David A Smith and William Dean Smith. Three daughters Glenda J. Kreipe, Linda M. Collins, and Karen S. Seyer. One sister Marjorie Wessell, one brother Bernard Smith. 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
He is also preceded in death by one great grandson Ryan W. Joyce.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Smith will lie in state after 12:00 pm noon Monday until 12:00 p.m. noon Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel and the family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, Nov. 8, 2004.
