Orville Lesslie, 89, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018.
He was born December 11, 1928, in Marshall County, Kansas, the son of Glenn and Maisie (Kniesteadt) Lesslie. Orville graduated from Vermillion Kansas High School in 1946. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Orville married Marcene Romig on August 5, 1950 in Topeka, KS.
Orville was employed by McElroy's as a sheet metal supervisor, retiring in December 31, 1993.
Mr. Lesslie was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, of Topeka. Orville was a craftsman. He worked with stained glass, metal, and woodworking. He knew how to fix anything. He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with his trailer.
Survivors include his wife, Marcene Lesslie, Topeka; daughter, Deb Lesslie and her husband Randy Miller, Woodbury, MN; son, Steven Lesslie, Topeka; grandchildren, Rob (Ryan) Lawrence, Erik (Mara) Schilling, Katelyn (Trevor) Peterson, Kyle (Dalten) Lesslie; step grandson, Jesse Miller, great-grandchildren, Evelyn Peterson, Lillian Lesslie; step great-grandchildren, Astrid and Joey Miller; a sister, Dorothy Tilley, Centralia; sister in law, Janice Robison and his faithful dog, Abby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Delores Matson and Arvillamae Henderson.
Visitation will be Friday, August 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage Blvd. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will be at 1:30 at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel in Topeka, Kansas.
