Orville H. Colhouer, 88, of Topeka passed away Friday, March 24 at Midland Hospice House.
He was born July 23, 1917 in Hoyt, the son of Finis E. and Freda C. Damme Colhouer.
Orville worked as a superintendent for numerous construction companies and was a life member of Carpenters Local # 1445 of which he was very proud. He was fond of the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was good husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He and his wife Mildred had been together for 59 years. She survives. He was preceded in death by three brothers, twin sisters and a son, Donald.
Other survivors include two sons, Darrell and his wife Marilyn of Topeka,Thomas, of Aurora, CO;a daughter Charlene Nesmith and her friend Nick Isles of Topeka;a brother, Larry Colhouer and his wife Pat of Penacola,FL; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Mr. Colhouer will lie in state after 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 28 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7-8:00 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 29 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
