Opal (Rumbaugh) Larsen, 85, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014.
She was born October 9, 1929, in Winchester, Kansas, the daughter of Dove and Nellie (Winans) Rumbaugh.
Opal was employed as a library technician at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center.
She enjoyed gardening, painting and volunteering at the Topeka Art Guild.
Opal married Francis Edward Larsen on September 22, 1948, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2007.
Survivors include daughters, Dr. Marta J. (husband John) Edmonds and Karen L. (companion Charles Green) Larsen; granddaughter, Katherine A. Edmonds; and great-granddaughters, Claire and Elise Edmonds.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka. Opal will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society.
