Olivene Morey Albrecht, 86, Topeka, passed away Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016. She was born August 30, 1929, in Fairview, Kansas, the daughter of Harold Connaroe and Ida (Wenger) Morey.
Olivene was a colorist for black and white photography at Maddigan's in Wisconsin, retiring after 30 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topeka. She made her home a welcome place for everyone. She loved sewing and garage sales and quilting. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Olivene married Oscar W. Albrecht on September 25, 1949 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include two children, Rev. Aaron Albrecht and his wife, Lynette, Stewart, MN and Dr. Ann A. Reyes, Cheyenne, WY; one grandson, Che' (Jose') M. Reyes and his wife Hannah, two granddaughters, Cassidy and Jessica Albrecht and one sister, Waunita Shoemaker, Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Maurita Jones and Don Morey and granddaughter, Noelle Albrecht.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Powhattan Cemetery, Powhattan, KS. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
