Olive C. Musser, 96, long time Topeka resident, died Sunday August 5, 2007, at the Ray Hickey Hospice House facility in Vancouver, Washington.
She was born January 9, 1911, at Minneola, Kansas, the 5th of 7 children born to James Ivan and Mary Ann (Tindall) Pitman.
Olive graduated from Minneola High School in 1929. She attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, where she achieved a BA Degree in 1933.
She married D. Ronald Musser on July 2, 1946, in Winfield, and they shared a 57 year marriage. Ronald proceeded her in death.
Olive's work career included being a Home Management Supervisor for Farmers Home Administration, USDA, and bookkeeper for Beechcraft Credit Union.
She was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church since 1956, Fellowship Sunday School Class, Icenogle-West Circle of United Methodist Women, N.A.R.F.E. and Topeka Home Economists in Homemaking. She was active in numerous community programs.
Most importantly – Olive was a devoted and loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother and she is greatly missed.
Survivors include her son, Ron Musser, and his wife, Rowena, Vancouver, Wash., and three grandchildren: Brett Thomas, Kaley Ann and Nicole Corinne.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lowman United Methodist Church. Private family graveside service will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Musser will lie in state Monday after 4:00 p.m., Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
