Okla C. Dahlgren, 94, Topeka, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at Aldersgate Village.
He was born Feb. 13, 1910 in Phillipsburg, the son of Victor Y. and Lucy M. Parker Dahlgren.
He spent his early years at Norwood, MO before moving to Hamburg, Iowa. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1929 and received a BA degree from Peru State College, Peru, NE in 1933.
Mr. Dahlgren taught school for 15 years at Sharpsburg, IA and at Fulton, KS. He then farmed in the Ft. Scott area from 1950 until his retirement in 1985. He came to Topeka in Sept., 1985.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of Fulton Lodge #210 AF&AM, Fulton, KS.
He married Helen D. Wright on Aug. 20, 1933 in Hamburg, IA. She died July 25, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Richard Dahlgren of Pittsburgh, a sister, Mable Green of Shenandoah, IA, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dahlgren was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm Friday in Wesley Hall at Aldersgate Village. Private inurnment will be in West Liberty Cemetery, Ft. Scott, KS.
