"The Lord is my Shepherd: I shall not want"
OK Kim, 79, Topeka, went home to be with the Lord. She was born on December 15, 1924 (June 5, 1924 in Lunar) in South Korea.
She immigrated to Kansas in 1975 with her son, Dong-Phil. She lived in the Topeka area for the last 29 years.
Her husband, Jungsoo Kim preceded her in death in South Korea in 1950 during the Korean War.
She leaves behind her son, Dong-Phil, in Topeka; her grandson David Young-Jin, who is serving in the United States Marine Corps; her daughter-in-law, Jae Jean in Topeka.
Other survivors are her two daughters, Cho and Wol.
She worked for the State of Kansas for 10 years until her retirement in 1990.
A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. She will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday with a family visitation from 7-8:00 p.m. tuesday evening.
