O. H. "Ozzie" Calderwood, 86, of Topeka, Kansas passed away April 23, 2003 at a Topeka hospital. He was born October 16, 1916 in Hoyt, Kansas to Henry Sabin and Sadie Belle Gregg Calderwood. He grew up in the Dennison and Mayetta area and lived most of his life in the Topeka area.
Ozzie was a letter carrier for 27 years, including 20 years as the Mailman in Westboro. He wa a Past President of the National Letter Carriers Association. He retired from the mail service in 1972. He was a Lifetime Member of the U.S. Army 35th Division, a member of the American Legion Topeka North Post #400,
Grand Lodge A.F & A.M. of Kansas, Siloam Lodge #225, Arab Temple, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Shrine Golf Unit, Kansas Senior Golfers Association and longtime F.O.P. Booster.
He married Gertrude "Gertie" Craig on August 22, 1944 in Topeka. She survives.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Penwell Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Mr. Calderwood will lie in state after 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2003 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery with military honors presented by the American Legion North Topeka Post #400.
