Norman Dwight Moody, 94, died September 8, 2019 at Homestead Assisted Living in Topeka.
Norman was born 6-25-25. He was the son of George Dwight and Norma Cone Moody. His sisters Vada Moody Dauphin and Dorothy Moody Fryer, preceded him in death. He grew up in Arkansas City, Kansas. Norman was proud to serve as a Lieutenant in the Army Air Force during WWII, with training as a bombardier. Following the war he graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1950 he began working for the State of Kansas Architectural Division, retiring in 1991 as Chief Mechanical Engineer.
Norman married Christine Elizabeth Johnson on 4-14-51. She preceded him in death 11-22-03. Survivors include daughters, Nancy L. (Moody) Neiswanger, son-in-law William A. Neiswanger, and granddaughter Sara A. Neiswanger; Susan G.(Moody) Anderson, son-in-law Ronald G. Anderson, grandson John R. Anderson and granddaughter-in-law Andrea S. Anderson, all of Topeka.
He was a proud graduate of Kansas University. His passions were everything "Rock-Chalk-Jayhawk-KU" and playing golf.
As a family, we wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Stormont-Vail Hospital, Homestead Assisted Living, and Interim Hospice, who supported Norman. Each of you were of enormous help to us.
Private burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery.
