Norma Rae Suttle, 81, of Leon, KS, formerly of Topeka, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012.
She was born December 21, 1930 in Wichita, KS the daughter of Orville C. and Ruth (Andrews) Young. She was a 1949 graduate of LaCrosse High School and attended Ft. Hays State University.
Mrs. Suttle was an Avon sales representative in Topeka for 8 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 58, American Legion Auxiliary, First Baptist Church, Parents Without Partners, and New Beginning Singing Group all of Topeka.
Norma married David L. Suttle on July 1, 1958 in Kansas City, KS. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1981. Survivors include two sons, Steve Yeager and David (Roberta) Suttle, all of Leon, KS; 4 grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, David and Kristi; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Austin.
Norma loved dancing, playing pitch, reading and lived for the times she spent with her grandchildren, especially during the holidays.
Funeral ceremonies will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, 3033 SW MacVicar Ave., Topeka, KS 66611. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Norma will lie in state from 3-8 p.m., Monday, at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka.
