Norma Johnson

Norma G. Johnson, 82, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at an Independence, MO care facility. She was born on March 16, 1924 in Scandia, the daughter of Ralph E. and Lula Cooper Bowersox. She had resided in Topeka since 1954. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Good Sam's Camping Club. Norma married Donald J. Johnson on June 22, 1946 in Coffeyville. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1994. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deborah and two brothers, Max and Dean Bowersox. Survivors include one daughter, Cinda L. Zigmund and her husband, Francis of Blue Springs, MO, one granddaughter, Kimberlee Robinson of Bates City, MO and one sister, Bernice Elliott of Las Vegas, NV. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial will follow. Norma will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. The casket will remain closed. Memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donor's choice.
