Norma Jean Johnson
Norma Jean Johnson, 72, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at her home. She was born on May 29, 1938 in Topeka, the daughter of William Eugene and Clara Elizabeth Shideler Tipton. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1956. She was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 22 years before retiring.
Norma married Donald H. Johnson on June 21, 1961 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her sister; Nancy Tipton and two brothers; Bill Tipton and Jack Tipton. Survivors include one son; Chris and wife, Rebecca Johnson of Kansas City, KS, one sister; Karen Tipton and one brother; Ron Tipton.
Norma will not lie in state. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
