Norma Carlson, 85, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2007.
She graduated from Hamilton, KS High School in 1938. She worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita as a Mechanical Draftsman during WWII.
Norma married Carl Robert Carlson on Dec. 20, 1951 in Topeka. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by 1 sister, Ruth Paul of Hurst, TX; 2 children, Nancy E. Carlson Krohe of Topeka and Robert E. Brown of Clinton, CT; 3 grandchildren, Kevin Krohe of Topeka, Matthew Brown of Rural Hall, NC, and Nathan Brown of Rockland, IL and 1 great-grandson. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Richard and Robert Merrick and 2 sisters, Frances Fisher and Florence Hammond.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, Aug. 10, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. She will lie in state after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606 or Trinity Lutheran Church, 725 SW Buchanan St., Topeka, Kansas 66606.
