Noriene J. Thacker, 70, Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at a local care center.
Noriene was born November 28, 1946 in Topeka, the daughter of John G. and Marian L. (Ward) Lane. She graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1964.
She was employed as a File clerk with the Kansas Legislature for over 15 years.
She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she served as Treasurer of Sarah Circle and participated in the LWML.
Noriene married Jesse O. Thacker on January 1, 1966. He survives. Other survivors include sons, Jesse O. Thacker II, John G. Thacker, both of Topeka; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
