Nona Maud (Roderick) Hastings

Nona Maud (Roderick) Hastings, 82, of Topeka, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022.
She was born November 21, 1939, in Meriden, Kansas, the daughter of Earl and Kathryn (Peck) Roderick. She graduated from Meriden High School. She attended Washburn University.
In her early years, she was active in 4H where she raised and showed sheep. She worked for the City of Topeka for 27 years.
Nona married Larry J. Hastings Sr. on August 31, 1957. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2001. Survivors include daughters, Terry (Alan) Ray and Torrie (Larry) Heptig; son, Larry (Liz) Hastings Jr.; grandchildren, Torrie Aisha Mason, Ashley Trood, and Ian Ray; great-grandchildren, Shawn'yel Thoms, Jai'Veon Kelly, and Maya O'Connor and one great-great grandchild, Cameron Scott; nephew, Wes and niece, Tonia and one sister Thelma Berryman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The family will greet friends during a casual visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Penwell-Gabel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. Private burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elara Caring Hospice 901 NE River Road, Ste 101, Topeka, KS 66616.
