Nola M. Carter, 81, of Topeka, passed away Sun., Dec. 21, 2008 at Plaza West Care Center. She was born July 18, 1927 in Parsons, KS, the daughter of Sherman G. and Blanche E. Milks.
On Jan. 6, 1946 she married Melvin "Bill" Carter in Parsons, KS. She worked for the Kansas Department of Revenue in the Titles and Registration. She was a member of the University United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include her children, Karen M. Satriano (William) of Littleton, CO; George D. Carter (Valerie) of Topeka; Cynthia G. Nace (Jeff Whitley) of Topeka; her brother, Bob G. Milks (Mary Lou) of Greenleaf; seven grandchildren, Michael, Teresa, David, Danielle, Becky, Jeffrey, and Katy; five great-grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law, Debbie Carter of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Dan D. Carter, and two sisters, Lois Diediker and Maxine Dobyns.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Sat., Dec. 27 at University United Methodist Church. Private family burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
