Nola Polter, 88, of Topeka, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016.
She was born November 14, 1927, near Paxico, Kansas, the daughter of Henry William and Lydia Elizabeth (Buchmeier) Anderson. She was a 1945 graduate of Paxico High School.
Nola was employed by Insurance Services Organization for over 40 years, retiring in 1992.
She was a member of the Crestview United Methodist Church, Topeka.
Nola married George W. Polter in 1948 in Topeka, KS. He preceded her in death on October 1, 1969. Survivors include a son, Robbie "Rob" (Jan) Polter; two grandsons, Justin (Michelle) Polter and Ryan (April) Polter; six great-grandchildren, Garrett, Riley, Brooke, Aidan, Avary and Parks Polter, all of Topeka; two sisters, Dixie (Earl) Herren, Wichita and Judy (Jim) Wilson, Keene, KS; a brother-in-law, John Simmer, Wamego, KS; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Patty Simmer.
Nola loved and enjoyed her family dearly. She enjoyed crocheting.
A funeral ceremony will be 11 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Crestview United Methodist Church, 2245 Eveningside Dr., Topeka, KS 66614.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday at Bethlehem Cemetery, Paxico, KS.
Memorial contributions may be given to Crestview United Methodist Church. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.
