Noelle Todd Drechsel

Noelle Todd Drechsel, 100, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2009, at Brewster Place in Topeka. She was born on August 3, 1909, in Leavenworth, KS, the daughter of Lee and Mary Denton Todd. Noelle received her Masters Degree from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. Noelle taught elementary school in Leavenworth for many years and was also a girls camp director from 1955-1963 at Camp Holiday, Hackensack, MN, and from 1964-1981 at Camp Mishawaka, Grand Rapids, MN. Noelle married William "Bill" Drechsel on October 7, 1981, at Leavenworth, KS. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1998. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marian Todd Burk and Harriet Todd Euson and a nephew, Todd Euson. Survivors include nieces and nephews Thomas Todd Burk of Colorado Springs, CO, Mary Lee Simpson of Scottsdale, AZ, Margaret Burk of Wittmann, AZ, James Euson of El Paso, TX, Richard Euson of Wichita, KS, Greg Euson of Chicago, IL, David Euson of Edina, MN, two great grand nephews, seven great grand nieces, and step-children Mary Louise Gramkow of Glenwood, MD, and John Andrew Drechsel of Tenafly, NJ. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2009, at Grace Cathedral, Topeka. Private inurnment will be in Mount Muncie Cemetery, Lansing, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Grace Cathedral, 701 SW 8th St., Topeka, KS 66603, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 209 N. 7th St., Leavenworth, KS. 66048, The Capper Foundation, 3500 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604, Stormont-Vail Hospital Foundation, Careline Endowment Fund, 1500 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604, or the Topeka/Shawnee County Public Library Endowment Fund for Homework Center, 1515 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
