Nellie M. Collier Duzan, 95, of Topeka, passed away Monday, November 14, 2005 at a local care facility. She was born Arpil 14, 1910 in Paris, Illionois, the daughter of Stephen A. and Nora B. Benjamin Collier.
She lived in Redmon, Illinois, Mt. Vernon, Indiana and Lincoln, Nebraska before moving to Topeka.
She married Everett M. Davis in 1926 in Paris, IL. They were divorced. She later married Loyd E. Duzan on March 17, 1947 in Henderson, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2004.
She was also preceded in death by, her parents, seven brothers, one grandson and one step-grandson.
Nellie is survived by two daughters, Mary Jacqueline Brodhecker and husband, Floyd of Lompoc, California; Norma Carol Lee Utech and husband, William of Topeka, Kansas; one son, James Leland Davis, Kansas City, Kansas, three step-daughters, Sarah Ann Dawson and Mildred Marie Pennington of Paris, IL, Marcella Maxine Piantedosi of Shelburn, IN, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren and twenty step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Duzan will lie in state after Noon on Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
