Naomi Faye Moran

Naomi Faye Litke Moran, 97, died March 26, 2021, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka, Kansas. She was born January 29, 1924, on a farm southeast of Alta Vista, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas Benjamin Litke and Lily Faye Newcomb Litke. She lived and worked on the farm and graduated from Beman Country School, the same school attended by her parents. She rode a horse to school (two miles).The farm did not have electricity until 1948. She worked as a waitress and store clerk before becoming a homemaker.

She married Kenneth Roland Moran on September 29, 1946, at her parents' home on a farm outside Council Grove, Kansas. She and Kenneth lived in Council Grove until 1957 when they moved to Topeka. She continued to reside in Topeka the rest of her life.

She was an avid quilter as well as doing crochet and embroidery. She was active in church activities and played the piano.

Her greatest joy came from her family. She had three sons, Richard and his wife Kathy of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Ronald of Cascade, Montana, and Kenyon and his wife Carolyn of Circleville, Kansas. She was a loving grandmother to six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She provided day care for one great-grandchild (Jaxon) well into her 80's.

Naomi was the oldest of six brothers and sisters, Vera Younggren of Council Grove (deceased), Don Litke of Council Grove (deceased), Tom Litke of Abilene, Ruth Newcomb of Newton, and Norma Stringer of Whitewater.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, services will be private and scheduled at a later date.
